A home in Glide, OR, 20 minutes north east of Roseburg, OR has a large crawl space that is in need of treatment. The muddy crawl space floor was causing mold issues throughout under the home. By controlling groundwater seepage and encapsulating the area, we were able to maintain healthy temperature, moisture and humidity levels and keep mold growth at bay.
Through effective use of helical piles, hydraulic piers or Smart Jacks, homeowners can achieve stability to a failing foundation. In some cases we are able to even lift foundations and close unsightly wall features like cracks in the cement, drywall cracks, or in this case stair step brick cracks.

In this Roseburg, OR home, home owner Scott B. already has a crawl space waterproofing system and a sump pump installed; However, there are still water issues. Remember, not all products are created equally, and not all installers are alike. The goal with home repair is to find the right system and the right people to do the work so you know your home problems are being solved. After seeing our number in the Roseburg phone book, Scott called to schedule his free inspection.
Scott's goals were to eliminate all water seepage and eliminate potential health hazards caused by moisture issues. To accomplish this goal, Scott had us install a new drainage system and sump pump. By attaching the sump pump discharge lines to the down spouts and out to the street for drainage, we were able to eliminate all excess water in his crawl space. To prevent future mold development and clean the air in his crawl space and home, we isolated the earth from the crawl space with Cleanspace liner, closed off all vents and installed a dehumidifier.
With all of Scott's moisture issues under control and a new air cleaning and dehumidifying system, Scott can be confident his house is in the best shape of it's life.
Some solutions are better than others. We have been in countless basement and crawl spaces where an existing waterproofing or encapsulation system has already present. The problem is who installed it. Some installers are better than others. Glide, OR home owner John B. had his crawl space conditioned a few years back but was still experiencing moisture issues. He could tell by the return of the musky odors. Overly cautious and overly concerned with air quality circulating his home, he called TerraFirma after being recommended by a friend.
Upon inspection by System Design Specialist Ryan Thomas, the current waterproofing system just wasn't getting the job done. So, by installing a new sump pump and drain tile, John was able to control all ground water seepage reducing moisture levels. Also, by isolating the earth from the house, closing off the vents and installing a dehumidifier, we were able to ensure improved air quality and eliminate all chance of mold growth
Marie M. of Roseburg, OR, while outside in the garden, noticed a gap between her exterior wall and chimney. This is obviously not normal. She suspected soil settlement but wanted to talk to an expert and make sure. After being referred to us by a past customer, Marie scheduled a free appointment for Ryan Thomas to visit her home.
After inspection, Ryan Thomas confirmed a settlement issue and scheduled a two push pier system to be installed as soon as possible. By connecting brackets to the chimney foundation and driving steel piers to proper load bearing soil below, we were able to give Marie proper support to her chimney to prevent it from leaning any more. Actually we were able to lean the chimney back upright and flush with the exterior siding of the house.
